If you are one who smokes frequently,
then you must be acquainted with those yellowish brown nicotine stains which
mar your clothes and make you look unsightly among your peers. These tobacco
stained clothes affect the impression people perceive from you and consequently
it might have a negative impact on your career or social relations.
On the other hand it is neither
practically possible to discard away every single piece of clothing which gets
stained with nicotine, nor can you quit smoking in a matter of days,
particularly if you happen to be a chain smoker.
To aid you in this troubling
situation, hereby we provide you with some effective stain removal techniques which will make sure that you get rid of
these aggravating nicotine stains.
Method One
This method is pretty simple yet if
followed adequately; it can ensure a satisfactory removal of tobacco stains
from clothes.
Things that you will require:
·
Water
·
Bar
of soap
·
Enzyme
laundry product
·
Chlorine
bleach
Steps that you need to take:
1. The first step includes moistening the
stain with water. Once the stain has
dampened, take hold of a bar of soap and use it to rub the stain. Rubbing the
stain will agitate the stain particles, prompting them to come off the fabric’s
surface.
2. Afterwards, rinse the stain area
thoroughly with clean water.
3. After making sure that the soap has been
satisfactorily rinsed out from the tobacco stain, you need to lay your hands on
an enzyme based laundry product. Use this to pretreat the stain for some time,
approximately half an hour.
4. Then, launder the fabric like you
normally do.
5. After laundering, make sure that you
have got rid of the tobacco stains before placing the fabric into dryer.
However, if the stain is still there then use chlorine bleach to treat the
nicotine stain and finally launder the garment.
Method Two
Vinegar
is a renowned cleansing agent and owing to this reason it is deployed in
various stain removal techniques. Similarly, this method also deploys this very
ingredient to get rid of any stubborn nicotine stains.
Things that you will require:
·
Glycerin
·
Dish
washing detergent
·
Water
·
A
large jar
·
Sponge
·
Vinegar
·
Cotton
pad/white cloth
·
Water
Steps that you need to take:
1. The first step involves the making of a
cleaning solution. To make this solution, you will have to combine one part of
glycerin with one part dish washing detergent and eight parts of water. Keep
this cleaning solution into a jar with the lid tightly closed so that it
doesn’t evaporate.
2. Now, you will have to apply this
cleaning solution onto the tobacco stained area with the help of a sponge. Rub
this sponge in a gentle, circular motion so that the cleaning solution can be
worked into the stain.
3. Afterwards, pour a few drops of white
vinegar onto the nicotine stain and cover it appropriately with a cotton pad or
white cloth.
4. Allow this pad to sit on the stain for
some time until the stain is picked up by it.
5. Remove the pad when the stain gets out
of the garment’s surface. Follow this step with a rinse of water and
eventually, launder the garment like you normally do.
Warning:
Before applying any cleaning
agent onto the stained area, primarily apply it on some indiscreet area of the
cloth so that you can ensure that it doesn’t damage the fabric’s surface.
