Remove Hair Dye Stains from Tub using Baking Soda and Vinegar
The following method deploys some very
effective cleaning agents such as vinegar and baking soda. These ingredients will
help you take care of fresh blood stains. The steps used are comparatively mild
as compared to the latter method. However it also ensures satisfactory stain
removal.
Things that you will require:
·
Baking
soda
·
Vinegar
·
Plastic
gloves
·
Hot
water
·
Resolve
carpet cleaner
·
Magic
eraser
Steps that you need to take:
1. First of all, you will have to plug in
the tub. Then, fill hot water in this tub. Make sure that this hot water covers
about two inches of the tub. However, if the hair dye stains are at the sides
of the tub then you need to fill the tub with hot water in such a manner that
stains are covered.
2. Now you need to make a cleaning solution.
This cleaning solution would combine the stain lifting powers of baking soda
and vinegar. Pour 1 cup of vinegar for every 2 inches of hot water. Mix this
vinegar thoroughly with water. Next, pour half cup of baking soda, again for
every two inches of water. Combination of baking soda with this vinegar water
will result in a fizzing action which would consequently result in the removal
of hair dye stains.
3. This cleaning solution should be allowed
to stay in the bath tub for almost 5 to 10 minutes so that it can carry out its
cleansing action effectively.
4. Afterwards, drain this water and then
rinse the tub thoroughly with warm water so that all traces of vinegar and
baking soda might be removed.
5. If the dye stain is stubborn and
persists despite the above mentioned stain removal strategy, then you need to
get hold of a Resolve Carpet Cleaner or its generic equivalent. Spray this
cleaner on stain remnants and it should also be allowed to sit on the stain for
5 to 10 minutes.
6. As a last resort, lay your hands on
Magic Eraser or any of its equivalent cleaning agents. Make sure that you put
on rubber gloves before the application of this cleaner. Once the stain is
removed, rinse the tub thoroughly with clean, hot water.
Tip:
Bleach
can also be used to get rid of hair dye stains from bath tub; however it should
be handled with care, since it is toxic, and should not come in contact with
clothing or skin.
