Merely thinking of chocolates makes one’s
mouth water. Fantasizing its rich aromatic texture melting in your mouth makes
you salivate. However, when that chocolate dribbles down on your white pants,
staining them for good, then perhaps that very chocolate pisses you off like
hell instead of attracting your taste buds. Yet when there is chocolate, there
are stains as well.
So what to do now? Impose a
self-proclaimed ban on chocolates for yourself or discard all of your white
pants? Luckily you don’t have to stoop to any of these measures, because if you
spill down some chocolate on your pants, our stain removal tips will make sure
that the stain doesn’t bother you and comes off easily. Follow the directions
given below and hopefully by the time you are done with them, you will have got
rid of chocolate stains satisfactorily.
Although
the following method is pretty simple and involves ingredients which are
readily available in almost every household, yet it has known to yield pretty
satisfactory results.
Things that you will require:
·
Dull
knife
·
Cold
running water
·
Tub
·
Laundry
detergent
Steps that you need to take:
1. The first step deals with removing
excess chocolate from the stain. For this you will primarily have to allow the
chocolates to dry so that it hardens. Trying to remove chocolate in its molten
state will only spread the stain further instead of removing it. Once the
chocolate has hardened, take a spoon or dull knife and scrape away as much
chocolate as possible.
2. Follow this step by placing the back
side of the stained fabric under cold running water. This step would wash away
majority of the chocolate from the stain.
3. Next, you have to take hold of a tub and
make a cleaning solution in it by combining water and laundry detergent.
4. Soak this chocolate stained garment in
this detergent solution for some time, approximately half an hour.
5. Afterwards, launder the fabric like you
usually do and allow the garment to air dry.
Tips and Warnings:
1. Do not use hot or warm water while
treating chocolate stains.
2. Always make sure that the stain has been
entirely removed before placing the cloth in dryer, otherwise it is quite
probable that the heat from the dryer would further set the chocolate stain.
3. If the stain refuses to come off,
despite the method elaborated above then you ought to treat the stain with a
bleach in order to get rid of it.
