How to Remove Rust Stains from Dish washer

Method One (Using Vinegar)

Vinegar is an all-purpose cleaning agent and this method also makes use of these magical stain-lifting powers of vinegar to get rid of rust stains from dishwasher.

Things that you will require:

· Warm water

· Vinegar

· Rubber gloves

· Wet vac/ paper towels

· Spray bottle

· Baking soda

· Hydrogen

· Sponge

· Cloth

Steps that you need to take:

1.   First of all, the preliminary step which you ought to take is the removal of bottom rack of your dish washer so that any food debris can be cleaned away.

2.   Remove the filters and make sure that you handle all the screws and bolts carefully. It is better that you put on rubber gloves while removing and cleaning these filters as they are likely to be very gross.

3.   Soak these filters in warm water and vinegar.

4.   Using a wet vac, clean the bottom of your dish washer. If wet vac is not available, then you can also consider using paper towels instead.

5.   Next, take a spray bottle and fill it with vinegar. Spray this vinegar into every nook and cranny of the dish washer.

6.   To treat rust stains effectively, take some baking soda and hydrogen per oxide. Combine these two ingredients to form a paste.  Using a sponge, apply this paste onto the rust stains and leave it on for some time.

7.   Afterwards, remove it with a cloth. This solution will magically lift off any rust stains.

8.   Finally, screw the filters back again, place the bottom rack inside, fill the detergent rack with vinegar and put the dish washer through its warmest cycles.

9.      Vinegar will be dispensed everywhere throughout the cycle and you will end up with a clean, stain-free and odor-less dish washer.

Warning:

While applying baking soda and per oxide solution onto the rust stains, make sure that you still have your rubber gloves on, as these can react with the skin and cause serious infections.

Method Two (Using Citric Acid)

Citric acid has astringent properties and is an effective cleaning agent. Owing to this very reason, this method deploys citric acid. Proceed as described below.

Things that you will require:

· 2 table spoons of powdered citric acid

 Steps that you need to take:

1.   Take two table spoons of powdered citric acid and pour them into the dish washer soap dispenser.

2.   Afterwards, run the dish washer through a complete cycle.

3.   If the rust stains are stubborn then perhaps you would have to run it through an additional cycle.

4.   Eventually, you will end up with a clean and rust free dish washer.

You can also use commercial products which are especially manufactured for removal of stain particles from appliances. Make sure that you read all the instructions given and comply with them.
