How to remove bird poop stains

Our little, harmless, feathery friends can wreak a lot of damage, when they feel like doing it. Although apparently, they themselves might not have the potential to make a lot of difference to your life, but their poop and consequently their resulting stains definitely have it. Imagine yourself, going for an important meeting, clad in your best tuxedo, intent on making an impression; but damn! A little bird saw you as an appetizing target for egesting. And now you have ended up with poop stains all over your best dress.

Now imagine another scenario. This is you, who is very cautious about his car and want its paint work to stay safe from the heat of scorching sun. So you park it underneath a tree. Now, when you return, instead of finding your car in the state that you left it in, it is covered with bird muck. Devastated would be the right word to put your feelings across, at that moment.

Another common experience is waking up one morning and finding your concrete drive way covered in bird poop stains. Another chore added in your to do list.

All these prospective situations are indeed very unappealing. However, in order to somewhat ease their discomfort and to help you get rid of these bird pop stains effectively we provide you with some easy tips which will hopefully yield satisfactory results.

Method One (For the Removal of bird poop stains from car)

Using quick wax and detail spray

The following method would not only help in the effective removal of bird poop stains from your car, but it would also ensure that your paint job remains secure and untouched.

Things that you will require:

· Bird muck wipes

· Details spray

· Microfiber cloths

· Milk, quick wax

· Clean cloth

· Water

Steps that you need to take:

1.   Bird muck can contain seeds, nuts and other hardened materials, so you cannot just wipe it off without softening it up first.

2.   To soften this stain, you can either use milk or some quick wax.  Furthermore since bird poop happens to be acidic, so milk can neutralize these acids and prevent them from harming your car’s paint work.

3.   To apply milk or quick wax onto the stain, simple apply it on a soft and folded microfiber cloth. Next, place the damp side of the cloth onto the stain.

4.   Pour some water on this cloth, yet the amount should be moderate; ample enough to soak the cloth but not excessive enough to run down your paint work.

5.   Allow this damp cloth to sit on the stain for some time, approximately 10 to 15 minutes. This is done so that the bird poop would soften up and become easier to remove.

6.   Afterwards, lift this cloth with your fingers carefully along with the droppings, instead of wiping it.

7.    Lastly, to restore the car to its original state, spray the stained area with a detail spray and then gently wipe it with a microfiber cloth.

8.   Eventually, enjoy a stain-free and clean car.

Precautions:

Never wipe the poop stain on your car’s surface, as it would ruin its paint job.  Rather it is better to opt for a water shower to flush away the poop remnants.

Method two (For the Removal of bird poop stains from concrete)

Using push broom and garden hose

The following method will enable you to get rid of both fresh and old poop stains from your concrete drive way.

Things that you will require:

· Water

· Garden hose

· Push broom

· Stiff brush

· Specialized cleaning product

Steps that you need to take:

1.   For fresh stains, a burst of water using a garden hose can also help to flush away maximum poop stains from your concrete pavement or drive way.

2.   Next, use a push broom to sweep aside any poop stain remnants from the concrete.

3.   If the stains are old, then after moistening them with water, using a garden hose, you can use a nylon stiff brush to scrub off these stains. The brush’s stiff bristles will loosen the stain particles and help them to come off.

4.   In case these subtle and mild methods don’t work, then get a specialized cleaning product from any hardware store.

5.   Apply this product on the stain and scrub it with the brush.

6.   Lastly, rinse the stain with water to get rid of these bird poop stains on concrete completely.

Precaution:

Bird poop can carry diseases so it is recommended that you wear a face mask, before treating these stains. Furthermore it is better that you use a spray to mist the stains before sweeping them. In this way, there will be lesser airborne particles and fewer chances for you to contract any disease.

Method Three (For the removal of bird poop stains from clothes)

Using Liquid Laundry Detergent

The following method works well for clothes which are sensitive to other cleaning agents which deploy harsh chemicals. Moreover it can help you to get rid of even the most stubborn bird poop stains from clothes.

Things that you will require:

· Hot water

· Cold water

· Spoon or spatula

· Chlorine bleach or oxygenated bleach

· Liquid laundry detergent

 Steps that you need to take:

1.   First of all, use a spoon or spatula to scrape away excess bird poop from the stain.

2.   Rinse the stain with cold water, making sure that maximum stain is flushed off.

3.   Next, take some liquid laundry detergent and apply it on the stain.

4.   Rub the detergent gently on the stain. The detergent will react with the stain particles causing them to loosen and come off the fabric.

5.   Afterwards, use a chlorine bleach or oxygenated bleach to treat the bird poop stain. However before applying the bleach, check it on an inconspicuous area of the cloth.

6.   Then, rinse the stain with water and launder your garment like you usually do.

7.   Lastly, make sure that the bird poop stain is gone before putting the fabric in water. Otherwise repeat the above mentioned steps.

Precaution:

Since, bird poop can contain disease causing bacteria and other germs, therefore it is better that you wear plastic gloves while treating the stain. Furthermore, disinfecting your washing machine after laundering the fabric is also a good option.
