Vomit Stains/Odor Removal Using baking soda, vinegar and detergent

The ingredients used in the following method for the removal of vomit stains are generally found in every household. Moreover this method works extremely well for the removal of traces of any lingering smell.

Things that you will require:

·       1 table spoon Corn starch
·      fan
·      Vacuum
·      ¼ cup of laundry detergent
·      1 cup of warm water
·      Sponge/towel
·      Baking soda
·      White vinegar
·      Spray bottle

Steps that you need to take:

1.   Vomit stains come with a very bad stench which is difficult to bear. To remove this lingering smell, it is important that you remove any lingering moisture. For this purpose, take one table spoon of corn starch and rub it on the vomit stain. Let this natural absorbent and deodorizer to sit on the stain for some time, approximately 10 minutes and then vacuum it away.

2.   Afterwards, take one fourth cup of detergent and 1 cup of warm water. A mild solution will be prepared. Apply this solution onto the stain with the help of a sponge and then dry it off with a clean towel.

3.   Take some baking soda and sprinkle it on the vomit stain. Make sure that the mattress is dry before you apply baking soda on it.

4.   Take some white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on the stain. Allow it to bubble and fizz and afterwards, blot it dry with a clean towel.

5.   Lastly vacuum or brush off any residue.

Tips:

1.   Never dump water or liquid into the mattress, otherwise there is a great probability of mildew or fungus growth in it as the water will never dry off completely.
2.   To clean vomit stains, having a fan nearby is a good option as it keeps the mattress dry and helps in circulating the odor and eventually diffusing it out through the doors or windows.
