White is the color for
summer. It is cool and doesn’t absorb heat like darker garments do, but since
the heat causes a lot of perspiration, many people forget that they have a
white shirt on and tend to use excessive amounts of deodorant in order to
perspire less. This does fulfill the purpose to some extent but ends up leaving
ugly yellow deodorant stains on the white shirt.
Excessive use of deodorant
is extremely harmful for any fabric. It makes the fabric weaker not only giving
it a worn out look but also causes it to shred quickly. The best way to avoid
damage to the garments and avoiding the ugly stains is to switch to
antiperspirants which are actually designed to make you sweat less.
In order to make it easy
for you to get rid of these deodorant stains from white shirts, we have come up
with the following solutions. They are easy and simple to follow, and give
satisfactory results every time. Follow the directions exactly and make your
shirts look brand new.
Method 1 (Using
Aspirin)
Aspirin is very effective
when it comes to removing deodorant stains. It is easy to find and works like
magic.
Things that you will require:
·
Aspirin
·
Water
·
Empty
bowl
·
Tooth
brush
Steps that you will need to take:
1. Start by mixing two
aspirins in half a cup of water. See that both tablets have completely
dissolved in water before proceeding.
2. Soak the tooth brush in the
solution to stir and then sprinkle some of the solution onto the stains. With
the help of the tooth brush gently rub the solution into the stains. Make sure
that you use a brush which has soft bristles.
3. After rubbing the stains,
leave them soaking in the aspirin solution for about 3 hours.
4. Do the laundry of the
deodorant stained white shirt as usual. Make sure to air dry the shirt rather
than putting it in the dryer.
Method 2 (Using
Baking Soda)
This method is very
effective as well and is less time consuming. Following it exactly will lead to
successful deodorant stain removal.
Things that you will require:
·
Baking
soda
·
Water
·
Empty
bowl
·
Tooth
brush
Steps that you will need to take:
1.
Start
by adding 2 tbsp. of baking soda to the empty bowl. This amount can increase as
per your need. Add a few drops of water at a time. The aim is to form a thick
paste. Stir with the tooth brush.
2.
Once
the paste is ready, lay the deodorant stained white shirt on a flat surface and
start applying the paste onto the deodorant stains.
3.
Leave
the paste on till it has completely dried up. Rinse the tooth brush with water
and then brush the paste off with it.
4.
Now
do the laundry of the stained shirt as usual. By this point the stains will be
completely removed.
5.
Rather
than putting the shirt in the dryer, let it air dry so that in case you missed
a spot, the stain doesn’t set in permanently.
