Mustard makes a very tasty topping for
many foods. Some people who are addicted to the taste and flavor of mustard put
it on everything and very often they accidently put it on everything they own.
If you are one of these people, do not fret if you lovely mustard has landed
itself on your favorite jeans.
Although jeans are often taken as
granted and people think that nothing will leave a stain on them then people
are wrong. If you have gotten mustard on your jeans the best solution is to
take immediate action because once the mustard stains sets on the jeans it will
be very hard to get rid of it because the main ingredient in mustard is
turmeric which acts as a dye and will leave an ugly yellow stain. In order for
you to successfully remove the mustard stain we have come up with the following
method which is simple, easy and effective.
Things that you will require:
·
Cleaning
towels
·
Dish
washing liquid
·
Water
·
Rubbing
alcohol
·
Empty
bowl
·
Butter
knife
Steps that you will need to take:
1.
Scrape
off the dried up or fresh mustard from the jeans. Scrape inwards towards the
center of the stain in case it is fresh.
2.
Now
in the empty bowl mix one tablespoon rubbing alcohol and three table spoons of
dishwashing liquid. Mix the two with the back of the spoon you used.
3.
Fold
a cleaning towel and put under the stains so that when you do the next step the
stains don’t get on the clean side of the jeans.
4.
Take
the butter knife and apply the mixture to the stained jeans. Make sure you
cover the mustard stains. Leave the mixture on for about ten minutes.
5.
Rinse
the stains with warm water and put the jeans in laundry and wash as usual.
6.
Air
dries the jeans after they are washed. This will result in a successful stain
removal.
