Cement stains on a car is a very odd thing but can happen to anyone who isn’t smart about parking near a construction site. More often people either park their cars at the wrong spot or while driving may drive over some wet cement. Both are sure ways of getting cement on the car. Now it might sound like it won’t stick but you will be surprised to know that cement sticks to the car body like cement.
It is best to get rid of the stain as
soon as your car gets it because if it dries up, removing it will leave behind
very nasty looking scratches. So take care of the stains as quickly as possible
with the following methods.
Method 1 (Using Vinegar Solution)
Things that you will require:
·
Pure
vinegar
·
Water
·
Spray
bottle
·
Cleaning
towels (paper towels)
Steps that you will need to take:
1.
First
try removing the cement with a cleaning towel if the stain is fresh.
2.
Mix
equal amounts of vinegar and water in the spray bottle and spray it on the
stain. Let it remain on the stains for a few minutes and then clean off the
cement stains with a cleaning towel.
3.
In
case step 2 doesn’t work, pour the pure vinegar onto the paper towel and hold
it on the stains for a few minutes. Once on the stain, pour the pure vinegar onto
the paper towel so that it sticks to the stains. Leave it on for about half an
hour. During that time, make sure that the towel isn’t getting dry because
vinegar might evaporate soon. Keep it wet.
4.
Take
the cleaning towel off to see the progress. By now the stains should have
cleared out. Wash the area and apply some sort of car wax to neutralize the
surface.
Method 2 (Using Salt Solution)
Things that you will require:
·
Salt
·
Water
·
Empty
bowl
·
Razor
or knife
·
Paper
towels
Steps that you will need to take:
1.
Mix
10 tsp. of salt to a few drops of water in a bowl. The aim is to make a
concentrated solution so keep adding drops of water till the solution is enough
to dissolve the salt.
2.
Soak
the paper towel in the solution and apply to the stains. Keep applying till you
think the stain is soaked. Now leave the towel on the stain for about 20
minutes. This will loosen up the stains.
3.
Take
the razor and scrap the surface of the stain making sure that the razor never
touches the body of the car. The dried cement will be easy to scrape off.
4.
Apply
the salt solution to the left over stains. This will completely remove the
stains.
