How to remove Grease Stains from polyester

Great care is required in order to clean polyester because of its synthetic nature. Although the synthetic fibers don’t absorb as much spillage as natural fibers do, they may be affected badly with grease stains. When wearing polyester garments make sure you are very careful around greasy surfaces. The oil in grease will grip the fibers and it will take a lot of time to get rid of the grease stains from polyester. 

In order to help you with the grease stain problem we have come up with the following solution. Our best advice is that you take immediate action against the stains or else it may take a lot of time and effort to get rid of the stains.

Method 1

This method has proven to be very effective against the grease stains on polyester. The vinegar is mainly responsible in loosening up the grease and the dish washing detergent helps in removing the grease. The ingredients required in grease stain removal process are readily available and easy to use.

Things that you will require:

·      Cleaning towel

·      White vinegar

·      Dish washing liquid

·      Empty bowl

·      Spray bottle

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   If the stain is fresh, use a cleaning towel to remove the grease from the surface.

2.   One all the grease has been remove, lay the polyester based article on a flat surface so that you can see all the stains.

3.   In an empty bowl mix identical quantities of water and white vinegar. Stir the bowl to mix the solution and then pour it into the spray bottle.

4.   Spray the solution onto the stains. Take a cleaning towel and dip it in the liquid dishwasher.

5.   Now apply the dipped cleaning towel onto the stained area. Make sure that you rub the surface gently. This will pick the grease stain off the polyester.

6.   By this point the stain would be completely removed. If not, reapply the vinegar solution and wait for about five minutes. Repeat step five.

7.   The loosened grease will result in lighter stains. Now you can do the laundry of the polyester garment as usual. Let the garment air dry. By now the grease stain removal will be successful.
