Ink stains
can develop on your cotton shirts because of many reasons. Firstly, it might be
the case that you may have dropped ink on your shirt while filling you pen.
Secondly, it might be the case that ink was leaked on your cotton shirt or
simply you had an ink fight which you do not really want your parents to know
about. Ink stains can be removed very easily as It requires materials that are
easily available at home or are not really expensive.
The key to
removing any stain is to remove it as soon as possible because more old it
becomes less easy it will be to remove a stain. There are numerous methods of
removing stains; however, this method will focus only on some of the best
methods. You can adopt any one of the following methods for the removal of Ink
Stains from Cotton.
Method 1
Things you will be required:

Hair spray
·
Cotton ball or
cotton swab.
·
Rubbing alcohol.
·
Clean white cloth.
·
Clean dry towel.
·
Baking soda.
·
Water.
·
Nail polish
remover.
Steps:
1. The
first step involves, that you place an old towel inside of the shirt where
there is Ink stain. This is very easy and just involves locating the stain.
Make sure you use a thick towel so that the Ink is not transferred to the back
side of the shirt. The purpose of using the towel is that as you are working on
the stain most of the ink will be transferred to the towel rather than the back
side of the shirt.
2. Then
as you have located the stain area, you may start spraying on the stain area
that is the hair spray covering the entire stain area and not leaving a single
space. The stain will loosen and get lifted up with the help of hair spray.
3. You
may give some time to the hairspray so that it can set in and then you may
start blotting with the help of a clean cloth or even cotton ball may work for
this purpose.
4. If
the Ink stain still remains you should moisten a cotton ball with a rubbing
alcohol and gently blot the stain from inwards to outwards so that you do not
spread the stain. Keep doing it until the stain is completely removed.
5. If
the stain is stubborn and is still there, then you should make a thick paste of
baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain area with the help of a
clean cloth or towel piece. Then lot to lift and remove the stain.
6. Then
you may give a normal wash to your shirt and the Ink stain will be removed.
7. However,
you still cannot get rid of the stain then you should moisten a cotton ball in
nail polish remover and blot the stain. The stain will be removed.
Method 2
Things you will be required:

Bleach.
·
Water.
·
Bar of soap.
·
Sponge.
·
Detergent mix.
·
Lemon juice.
·
Bowl.
Steps:
1. Before
you wash your shirt it is very important to bleach your shirt if it is white.
2. After
that you have to make a perfect paste. First, you should add detergent mix,
drops of lemon juice, bar of soap and water and mix it well. Make sure that
your paste is thick enough.
3. Then
apply the paste on the stain area. Keep it applied on for an hour at least.
4. Then
rub it gently with sponge or some piece of cloth. Then give a regular wash and
your Ink stain will be removed.
Tips and Warnings:
1. Do
not use extremely warm water as it may set the stain rather than remove it.
2. When
making any of the above mentioned pastes makes sure you make it thick enough so
that it can be effective.
3. Use
bleach only on non-color shirts as it can fade the color unless you use non color
fade bleach.
4. Do
not soak the shirt completely in rubbing alcohol as it can spread the stain in
other parts of the shirt as well which means more time will be taken to remove
the stain.
5. Use
old towel as stain will set in it, so use a towel which you can dispose of
quickly.
