Toilet bowls
often after several years get rust stains. This doesn't not mean that you do
not give a regular wash to your toilet bowls. You may wash your toilet bowls
everyday but the fact of the matter is that these toilet bowls need something
else to get rid of such stains other than the normal detergent you use at least
once a month.
Sometimes
these rust stains may also develop because of unclean water in your well or the
line give you water. So after removing such rust stains you have to get rid of
the long term problem that is the dirty water or saline water which is one of
the main causes of such rust stains.
It is very
important to remove such rust stains from toilet bowls as these contain
bacteria which can lead to the spread of diseases especially when you have
babies at home who have the habit of inserting their hands anywhere. So just to
be careful you really need to get rid of these stains choosing any method you
like or you are comfortable with.
Method
1 (Using Chlorine and Vinegar)
Things you will be required:
·
Vinegar.
·
Chlorine.
·
Long scrubbing
brush.
·
Toilet washing
powder.
Steps:
1. First
add chlorine into the toilet bowl which will make the stains clear and you will
be able to see clearly as to where exactly the stain is and on which area you
have to focus.
2. Then
add three drops of vinegar into the toilet bowl and leave it there for twenty
minutes.
3. Do
not flush the vinegar and add normal toilet washing powder, allow it to reach
the entire toilet bowl and then start scrubbing it with your long scrubbing
brush especially designed for toilet bowls.
4. You
will see that the Rust Stain keeps fading on and then if you see water
developing, you should add more powder and scrub until rust stain has
completely vanished.
Method 2 (Using Pumice
Stone)
Things you will be required:
·
Pumice.
·
Warm water.
·
Rubber gloves
Steps:
1. Dip
pumice in warm water before you do anything else.
2. Then
wear rubber gloves and start scrubbing the toilet bowl with pumice making sure
both the pumice and area is wet enough. In case they are not wet it can create
scratches on the toilet bowl.
3. Keep
scrubbing for at least thirty minutes after which flush the toilet. Your toilet
bowl with then be shining and free of Rust Stains.
Method 3
(Using Cleanser and Pumice Stone)
Things you will be required:
·
Warm water.
·
Rubber gloves.
·
Scrubbing cleanser.
·
Sponge
·
Pumice stone.
Steps:
1. First
make sure to turn the water off coming into the toilet bowl area. A little
effort will be required in turning it off as it is once a month thing.
2. Then
pour some warm water into the bowl, at least covering above the stain area.
3. Wear
your rubber gloves and pour some scrubbing cleanser on the stain and start
scrubbing with the help of sponge. Keep scrubbing until you see that the stain
becomes light and area becomes a bit clear or it may clear completely.
4. To
make the stains completely removed use pumice stone start scrubbing it again at
least for ten minutes and the stain will be removed. Pumice stone is very hard
but it’s not harder than the porcelain so it will not create scratches on
porcelain.
Tips and Warnings:
1. Wear
gloves when cleaning toilet as all kinds of bacteria are present in toilet.
2. Make
sure you use only long scrubbing brush which has a stick to hold as none of
your body parts should touch the toilet bowl.
3. Make
sure that both pumice and the rust stain area that you are scrubbing are wet as
if they are not wet it can destroy the porcelain.
4. Wearing
rubber gloves will prevent the water from coming in or seeping in.
