If
you are at home you want to take your coffee in a relax mood walking around or
sitting on a couch or a carpet. During this relax mood you may spill the coffee
on the carpet. But in that case you don’t need to be worry at all. But the
sooner you will deal with the issue the easier it will be, as the coffee stains
become stub born if not timely dealt. Following simple steps will help you to
remove coffee stains from carpet.
Things you will be required:
·
Paper
Towels or soft cloth
·
Detergent
·
Water
·
Spray
bottle
·
Baking
soda (for stubborn stains)
·
Vinegar
(for stubborn stains)
Steps:
1.
Blot
the stain with the help of light colour towel or a cotton cloth to remove all
excess wet and dry material. Keep blotting until no excess material is being
absorbed by the towel. It is better to blot the stain from outward to inward so
that it may not spread more.
2. Spray the water on the stain and blot
the stain as did in step one. Repeat this procedure until no more stain is
absorbed by the towel/cloth.
3. Mix a small amount of detergent with water
in a small cup. Apply it on the stain with the help of towel/cloth and blot it.
Repeat this procedure until no more stain is absorbed by towel/cloth.
4. If the stain is still present, make a
paste of baking soda and water, like the consistency of a tooth paste. Apply it
on the stain and let it to dry. When it is fully dried vacuum it away. The
stain hopefully would be gone.
5. If stain still not removed make a
mixture of white vinegar and water in the ratio of 1 by 2. Spray this mixture
on the stain and blot it as usual.
6. If your stain is too stubborn and is
not removed by applying all these steps, still the game is not over. There are
number of commercial products available in market which will surely remove the
stain. You can search one of them in the market and apply it on the stains
7. When the stain is fully removed place
a dry towel on it. Pressed it gently so that all the extra moisture is
absorbed.
8.
After
that vacuum the carpet so that the carpets texture is restored.
Tips and Warnings:
1.
Do
only blotting. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, this will spread the stain on the
carpet.
2. If you can’t deal with fresh stain
right away spread the salt over the stain. Salt will absorb the moisture along
with the pigment causing the stain.
3.
Using
a clean white cloth for blotting is best.
